Land rights movement in India

With the participation of : Ekta Parishad, Action Village India and Solidarité.

In January 2003, the people’s movement Ekta Parishad organised a Padyatra, (protest walk), across the new born state Chattigarh, in the heart of India. The aim of the protest was to pressure the Indian government into considering the problems linked to land ownership and access.

In the spirit of Gandhi’s Satyagraha, this organisation practices peaceful civil disobedience in its effort to bring positive change to India. Ekta Parishad embodies the determination of the voiceless people in a stubborn and desperate land.
