This project concerns the Andean Indian communities, situated on the side of the volcano Chimborazo at an altitude of 3200 to 4000 m. Livestock and crop farming generate the greater part of their income, one that is very low due to low productivity, insufficient alimentation, lack of mineral supplements, etc.
The project’s technician was a native therefore all communications were made in Quechua. This was very interesting from a cultural point of view
The livestock’s vaccines were paid for by the benefits raised though the increase in production.
Communal pharmacies were also opened to continue informing and organising the community’s farms.
Partner : Pastorale Sociale de Riobamba.
Duration : 2 years (April 1993 to April 1995).
