Enlarging the school building in the village of Serudur

Project region : Serudur, Nagapattinam region, southern region of Tamil Nadu

Aim : extension of the school for 4 additional classes

Course of action :

  • Build an extension to the school
  • Refurbish and equip the school
  • Erect a communal building

A new school

Serudur is a small village 250 km south of Chennai (capital city of the state of Tamil Nadu), close to Velakanni, an important place of Christian pilgrimage. It was heavily damaged by the tsunami.

 

 

This project enabled the children to return to school.

 

 

 

Partner : SDET (Swami Dayananda Educational Trust)
Duration : 1 year (March 2005 to March 2006)
