Healthcare for all

When the project was first set up in 1986 it was given the title: A school for alternative rural healthcare.

The training centre offers courses for barefoot doctors and paramedics. Their purpose is to bring healthcare to rural areas where urban-trained doctors would not settle. 50% of the students are women aged between 18 and 27. They are recommended by the local NGOs that work hand in hand with hospitals and the ministry of health and are chosen by their local village council, in order to guarantee their influence in the local villages.

So that every social class can attend all courses are in the local vernacular.
The training centre now covers other domains like for example healthcare, agriculture and management.
