Who are we ?

Solidarité was created in 1980 and as an international solidarity organisation is governed by the law of the 1st of July 1901. It is a non-profit organisation with no religious, political or economical adherence.

The focus of our work

In the northern hemisphere :

Solidarité helps :

  • Establish a better social, political, demographic, cultural and economic understanding between the Northern and the Southern nations
  • Expand cultural awareness and give insight to other ways of life
  • Bring about a climate of respect, tolerance and non discrimination

Solidarité organises and regularly participates in :

  • Conferences, cultural events, exhibitions and forums
  • Acting as a rely for educational and associative information
  • Rallying the youth
  • Internships, notably in India with the ITTPD

 

In the south :

Our activity encompasses agriculture, training, health and employment by developing the craft industry aims to promote independence. Each project is designed to develop local resources for local needs.


These projects benefit the most deprived populations:

  • Tribal, Dalits, the ‘untouchables’ and women in India
  • indigenous populations of South-America
  • Africain women and childre

Our way of operating :

  • Training and educating the local population (literacy, vocational training)
  • Income generating activities (agriculture, craft industry etc.)
  • Developing micro finance (administration, SHG, self help groups for women and farmers etc.)
  • Improving existing production facilities (ovens, compostes,etc.)
  • Developing organic and communal farming (vegetable gardens, local crops, cereal)
  • Protecting natural resources (reforestation, water and soil preservation etc.)
  • Building and renovating (training centres processing centres, storage areas, kitchens etc.)
  • Making materials available (for training : manuals and tools)
